Egypt Journalism Project (EJP) is an exciting new venture that seeks to train citizen journalists with best practices in journalism.
By including a group of devoted citizen journalists who are passionate about journalism and the media, our program will offer cutting-edge training in everything from shooting video to social media use.
These young citizen journalists will meet weekly for training sessions and have assignments to better hone in on the practical and theoretical skills relating to journalism.
Its successes will therefore be trifold: the citizen journalists will be equipped to cover the next major news story on their turf; the quality and caliber of Egyptian independent media will be bolstered by a fresh crop of young journalists; and finally, our program will help nurture the memories and stories stemming from the revolution and beyond for Egyptians and the worldwide audience years down the line.
